We Offer Telehealth

At Elgin Animal Hospital our focus is on prevention and early detection. Our mission is to be an advocate for all pets that come to see us. To seek for the best possible preventative care and medical treatment in order to help you to give them the best outcome for their health, happiness and longevity.

We aim to teach you, their loving family, how to prevent and look for the early signs of disease before a major illness develops.

As a new client of our practice, you can expect our full attention to your pets’ needs. Our service will be provided with courtesy and respect. Our goal is to see all of our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. We will ensure these are minimized as much as possible.

We are excited to meet you and your four-legged family members.

Dr. Julie Must
Veterinarian

Dr. Julie Must grew up in the small town of Smiths Falls, Ontario. She has always had a love for animals and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. When she was in high school she completed a co-op placement at Smiths Falls Veterinary Services, which made it clear to her that a career in veterinary medicine was right for her. Julie graduated from the University of Guelph in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in neuroscience. During her time at Guelph, she trained and fostered a service dog that successfully passed and is now an autism therapy dog. When Julie was accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College, she always dreamed of doing international veterinary work. She was lucky enough to spend her summers working with both Veterinarians Without Borders in Tanzania and Global Vets in Thailand. Julie couldn’t decide which species she liked to work with best, so in the final year of her veterinary studies, she streamed in Rural Community Practice. She had the opportunity to work with both companion and farm animals but decided that becoming a companion animal veterinarian was right for her. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College with distinction in 2017. Julie is excited to join the team at Elgin Animal Hospital and she looks forward to meeting the pets and their families in the community. Julie has a special interest in behaviour, nutrition and preventative medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, running, practicing karate and spending time with her family and friends.
